St. Mark, in his Gospel, has been telling us of the initial criticisms of the Jewish leaders against Jesus by blaming Him for not training His followers correctly, that they are guilty of breaking the religious rules regarding ritual [...] Continue reading

Score card management for my pre golf app

I’ve finally got almost all the basic score card functionality finished.  You can now manage all the cards in the database.  Delete them… Load an old one to edit and view… create/start a new card.
Along with that I also added a drop down panel when you tap the Score Card header to allow you to [...] Continue reading

Tradition

From the beloved and award-winning musical “Fiddler on the Roof,” the song, “Tradition!”—
Who, day and night, must scramble for a living,
Feed a wife and children, say his daily prayers?
And who has the right, as master of the house,

First Real Pre/webOS Golf App Test

Well.. I played 18 holes today with a bunch of friends and was able to give my app a thorough usability test.  I’ve added a couple modifications to the score entry screen now because of it.

A user can now cycle through the holes and players (if there is more than one) from the score entry [...] Continue reading

Working user management on my golf app

Spent some more time this evening working on the golf app.  I was able to fix my user management per scorecard.  You now add a generic player 1, 2, 3 and so on… and then can link the players to users in your contacts.  This allows you to track scores with and not have to [...] Continue reading

In our once-every-three-years summer vacation visit with St. John in the sixth chapter of his Gospel, we have been faithful in asking the question, “Is John chapter 6 about the Sacrament of the Altar or not?” and answering by saying, “No.” [...] Continue reading

Finally… Widgets within lists.

I had some sort of mental block that was keeping me from getting this working.  But it is.  Now I can add golf players from the contacts list properly, add them to the list and have the integerPicker widget for each hole.  The score card will list an entire round that can be scrolled horizontally [...] Continue reading

More work on the webOS golf app

I’ve been learning a lot about webOS programming and finally got it storing data and also did a test grabbing some gps points while out on the course last week.
Here are a couple more in-progress screen shots.

Shoes too small

So it turns out, Lacy has a very hard time parting with clothing (specifically shoes) that no longer fit. She’s constantly finding shoes she hasn’t worn for months and tries to put them on for a good 5 minutes or longer and ends up crying her eyes out because they don’t fit. It’s [...] Continue reading
